Orbyn team and mission

About Us

Building Trust Between People and Technology

We believe AI should serve organisations, not overwhelm them. Orbyn exists to make that idea real — one thoughtful engagement at a time.

Our Story

How Orbyn Came to Be

Orbyn was founded in Johor Bahru by a small group of technologists and consultants who shared a common frustration: too many AI conversations revolved around hype, and too few centred on what actually works for the people doing the daily work.

We started with a simple premise — that the best way to introduce AI into an organisation is not through sweeping transformations, but through careful observation, honest assessment, and collaborative building. Our first engagements were with local SMEs in Johor who wanted to explore what machine learning could do for their operations but didn't know where to begin.

What we found was that the most valuable thing we could offer wasn't code — it was clarity. By taking the time to understand how teams really worked, we could suggest targeted, achievable improvements that felt less like disruption and more like a natural evolution of existing workflows.

Today, Orbyn serves organisations across Malaysia, from manufacturing firms to professional service providers. Our approach hasn't changed much since those early days. We still start by listening, we still prioritise practical outcomes over theoretical possibilities, and we still believe that responsible AI adoption is the only kind worth pursuing.

What Guides Us

Our Mission and Values

"To help Malaysian organisations adopt artificial intelligence in ways that are practical, ethical, and genuinely useful for the people who work in them."

Listen First

Every engagement starts with understanding — your people, your processes, and your goals — before we make any recommendations.

Stay Honest

If AI isn't the right tool for a particular situation, we'll say so. Our role is to guide you well, not to sell solutions you don't need.

Think Long-Term

We design for sustainability. That means building capacity within your team so that you're not dependent on us indefinitely.

Act Responsibly

Ethics and fairness aren't optional add-ons. We embed responsible AI principles into every project, from assessment to delivery.

Our People

The Orbyn Team

A compact, multi-disciplinary group with backgrounds spanning engineering, data science, organisational consulting, and regulatory compliance.

Professional Standards

Quality and Compliance

Data Protection (PDPA)

Full compliance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. We implement data minimisation principles and secure handling protocols in every engagement.

ISO 27001 Aligned

Our information security practices are aligned with ISO 27001 standards, covering data access controls, encryption, and incident response procedures.

Ethical AI Frameworks

We follow the OECD AI Principles and Malaysia's National AI Roadmap guidelines. Bias assessments and transparency reviews are built into our standard process.

Quality Assurance

Every deliverable undergoes peer review and validation testing before it reaches your team. We document methodology so you can audit and extend our work.

Continuous Development

Our team maintains ongoing professional development — attending regional AI conferences, contributing to open-source projects, and staying current with regulatory changes.

Clear Agreements

Every engagement begins with a detailed scope agreement that outlines deliverables, timelines, data handling, and intellectual property terms — no ambiguity.

AI Consulting Built for Malaysian Organisations

The landscape of artificial intelligence in Malaysia has grown considerably in recent years, with businesses across manufacturing, logistics, education, and professional services exploring how data-driven tools can support their operations. Yet for many organisations, especially those in Johor and the broader southern corridor, the challenge isn't a lack of interest — it's finding a partner who understands both the technology and the local context.

Orbyn was established to fill that gap. Based in Taman Molek, Johor Bahru, we work closely with Malaysian businesses to assess where AI can add genuine value, build working prototypes that teams can evaluate firsthand, and develop governance frameworks that align with national standards and international best practices. Our engagements are designed for organisations that prefer a considered, step-by-step approach to technology adoption — one that respects existing workflows and builds internal capacity over time.

We draw on applied experience in machine learning, process engineering, and regulatory compliance to deliver outcomes that are both technically sound and operationally relevant. Whether you're a mid-size manufacturer looking at predictive maintenance, a professional firm exploring document analysis, or a healthcare provider considering AI-assisted triage, our team is equipped to guide you from initial assessment through to implementation planning.
